‘Mental Epic’ is a great classic which continues to stump people; which says a lot about the quality of this trick. A slate is marked off into six equal spaces. Jot down three predictions in the top three spaces which you, en passant, cover immediately with a small, wooden flap. Ask your spectator three questions (his favourite colour, fruit, number, etc.) and write his answers in the bottom three spaces. The wooden flaps are swung back and all your predictions are found to tally with what the spectator said. Is fully automatic, leaving you to concentrate on a novel presentation.
