Show the kids: an attractive wooden board with two rows of doors: two on the right and two on the left. A bright wall of red bricks runs between the doors. Introduce your friend - the baby rabbit - with its long, flappy ears and lock up the rabbit in one of the doors on the right. While you walk towards the audience, the rabbit leaves its hutch, runs along the wall and disappears behind the left-hand doors. All the kids will have seen this. You, of course, didn’t ... but the children’s yelling soon draws your attention to the rabbit. They explain what they saw. But you say they’re wrong and open the left-hand doors; they’re empty. While you walk to the front the rabbit changes place again. You can repeat this sequence as often as you like. The children see the rabbit escape each time while you, unsuspectingly, always arrive too late. You can’t find the rabbit anywhere. The children are dying to help as it’s all happening when your back’s turned. At a certain point the rabbit lets its ears hang over the doors, as if to wink to the audience, who soon become accessories to his mischief. Finally, you open all the doors: the rabbit is gone, it’s vanished into thin air! Now even the children are at a complete loss.
