Have someone shuffle a pack of cards whichever way he likes. Once he's done, focus the attention on your tie which has a safety pin in it. Get your spectator to choose a card and to sign it. Then lose the card in the deck. Not to worry; with the safety pin in your tie, you're playing safe as it's this card, of all those in the pack, that the safety pin will retrieve. Cut the deck into two Chinese-style fans and slide them, for a moment, down the length of your tie. Universal awe when it transpires that the signed card is, all of a sudden, pinned securely to your tie! Tear the card loose from the safety pin and hand it to the startled spectator who now finds, in the meantime, that he's riveted to the ground. Has he become motionless with astonishment?

A highly visual card trick which, on account of its almost instant reset, is just the thing for table-hoppers.
