Four cards of a different colour are mounted on a stand. Also hold up a frame with four coloured clothes pegs on it. Each peg has a ribbon of the same colour attached to it. You then ask a spectator to take one of the four cards from the stand, to hold up that card, so that everyone sees the colour and then, finally, to put it back. All this happens while you stand with your back turned to the audience and, in other words, you can't see a thing. Soon after, you pick up the frame and urge your audience to train their thoughts on the chosen colour. Suddenly, for no apparent reason, one clothes peg flies off the frame. The colour of the peg and the ribbon, which shot into the air like a veritable meteorite is, of course, the same as the one chosen by your audience. This trick can be repeated immediately.
